In Symondson’s transformative approach, these weapons are no longer just props—they become canvases of critique. The guns in each image have been shot with the exact same firearm they depict, leaving behind real bullet holes, forcing viewers to literally and metaphorically look through the damage.

This powerful juxtaposition challenges the glamorization of guns in film, confronting viewers with the stark realities behind these cinematic symbols. The impact is both visual and conceptual—prompting a critical reexamination of how violence is portrayed and consumed in popular culture.
