This striking full-length portrait captures Brigitte Bardot on the set of The Legend of Frenchie King (Les Pétroleuses, 1971), a Western-comedy filmed in Spain, where she starred alongside Claudia Cardinale. The image was taken by the legendary Terry O’Neill, one of the most collected photographers of the 20th century. His work is held in national galleries and prestigious private collections worldwide.

Brigitte Bardot is a French actress, model, and singer who rose to international fame in the 1950s and 1960s. Known for her beauty, charisma, and cultural influence, Bardot became a symbol of liberated femininity and remains one of cinema’s most iconic figures.

This particular photograph was selected for the provocative exhibition ‘Hollywood Reloaded’, curated by artist and former Special Forces soldier Bran Symondson. It was also the final project Terry O’Neill worked on before his passing, making this collaboration especially meaningful and historically significant.

The original photograph is hand-signed by both Terry O’Neill and Bran Symondson, elevating it to an exceptional collector’s item of rare provenance.

In Hollywood Reloaded, cinematic legends such as Brigitte Bardot, Roger Moore, and Michael Caine are portrayed with weapons—symbols often associated with power and danger in film. Symondson then takes these images and fires live rounds through each print using the very same weapon depicted, leaving behind real bullet holes that challenge the viewer’s perception.

Through this transformation, the piece interrogates Hollywood's glamour and spectacle, turning the weapon from a symbol of allure into one of destruction. The contrast between Bardot’s poised elegance and the violence etched into the print compels a deeper reflection on society’s normalisation of firearms through celebrity and cinema.

With only three editions created worldwide, each featuring unique butterfly arrangements and signed by both creators, this piece is a powerful fusion of fashion, history, and fine art—inviting both admiration and introspection.
