Destruction, Transformed

At the heart of Explosively Delicate lies a striking contradiction: a fragile butterfly resting upon one of warfare’s most recognisable forms.

The grenade represents conflict, force and destruction. The genuine currency covering its surface confronts the relationship between money, power and the machinery of war. Above it, a real preserved butterfly becomes a symbol of vulnerability, renewal and nature reclaiming what humanity created to destroy.
